Liminal Forest

Stuck between a mountain range, tundra, and canyons, the Liminal Forest is home to the outcasts of society. The boundaries between groups of people who live in the forest are foreign to most people of Domhain. The area is generally considered to be dangerous as many people disappear if they attempt to cross the forest without a guide. In order to avoid conflict, major roads have been built around the land further isolating it from mainstream society.

The land, like its people, has been shaped by how the general population perceives outcasts. While the forest and its people obviously exist, everyone tends to forget they have ever had contact with this place. Many people who have accidentally stumbled upon the forest by accident without ill intent tend to be cared for quite well. Since the people who inhabit the land have the common experience of being treated like an outcast, they tend to have a strong connection to each other even if they are drastically different in the way they act or look. Most of the guides who help people navigate the Liminal Forest are from nearby villages who have built up good relations with the forest despite their village’s warning.
