# Planda

One of the few animals to survive the Unintentional Calamity, Planda eat practically anything that grows out of the ground. They can very drastically in size depending on the environment that they grow up in. The four-legged animal's thin but long body is supported by extremely dexterous and strong, slim legs that allow the creature to climb any surface it can sink its razor sharp claws into. Although Planda do not eat other animals, they are not afraid to fight anyone that gets in the way of their food. Ironically, this animals is not able to rip into any flesh even if they did want to eat another animal as their mouths are mostly constructed of two rough bones that can clamp onto any leaf and grind it up before digestion.

One reason the [School of Nature](/the-unintentional-calamity/history/school-of-nature.md) believes these animals have survived so well is due to their natural camouflage. After spending enough time in any given environment, the fur of Planda slowly starts to become the same color as its surroundings. Meanwhile, the eyes of the creature actually turn the opposite color of its fur. When a Planda sits still with its eyes closed they become nearly undetectable. Since their eye color is drastically different than their environment, most of the time these creatures move with their eyes closed to escape detection of potential predators.
