Ice Trial Path

At the very top of Domhain, just east of Modara, a bridge of rocks naturally connects two continents. This bridge of rocks is only accessible during the warmer months of summer when all the ice has melted. The water is still freezing cold, but it allows for anyone who wishes to travel between continents unnoticed to do so. By wading through waste high water, it is possible to cross The Great Scar on foot, but it is very dangerous. Currents can easily sweep you off your feet and tug you down to the bottom of the river. The cold can slow you down causing some people to drift out of consciousness before they make it to the other side. Those that do make the journey are known to be extraordinary people, or those in desperate need.

If someone were foolish enough to try to cross the Ice Trial Path during the winter, their chances of survival are even slimmer. Besides the high chance of freezing to death, a person must face ice that tends to sweep the top of the path. Being knocked off the path by ice is lucky. Unfortunate travelers who get swept under the ice are never seen again.
