Description

Born and raised in a small village called Iris. Both father and mother were woodcutters. The village depended on them for firewood. In return the family depended on the village for all other resources. A very tight-knit community, no one can stray away for they would die without one another. Everyone knows everyone in the village. No one has a huge home or significant amounts of wealth more than another person. All have traveled to this village for different reasons. Regardless of background most people are accepted. Iris is fairly isolated from the rest of the world. Lives in a forest with rather large trees.

One day that forest is infected with a plague. The town of Iris is infected with the plague and Chelsen is subsequently also infected. Despite his father’s wishes, Chelsen enters the forest trying to make it to the next village and see if they have a cure for this plague. He ends up not making it and being saved by the Comptana, who are the aliens that released a plague on the planet to terraform the environment. The Comptana send Chelsen on a mission to save the planet with his newly learned manipulation magic that allows him to heal. Due to being in direct contact with the Comptana, Chelsen receives some side effects. His hair ends up going in ridiculous directions and never settles. His arms and legs have black veins with sickly gray glows. Whenever Chelsen uses manipulation magic, those veins glow a bright red. Whenever he uses teleportation magic his veins glow a bright blue.

Chelsen is then tasked with helping the world in fighting this plague. He alone bears this responsibility. Along the way, Chelsen will have to overcome tasks of saving those who are deemed to be evil in society. Additional situations will arise, where Chelsen’s actions might decide the fate of wars, nations, and the balance of the world. His power of healing makes him very powerful, and therefore a target as well. Soon everyone will know him, and he will become a target.

For a boy who has previously no sort of fame, and no desire for such, will be weighed down by responsibility. He never will be happy with the responsibilities thrown onto him. The only thing driving Chelsen forward is the desire to make sure no one experiences what he did when he was child. Making sure that even when he fails he’s done his best.

Eventually the world will be cured, and Chelsen will settle back down. He will go to a place where he met someone who said they would wait. Unfortunately, she will have moved on by the time he is back, causing him to travel until he finds his most desirable home. There, he will meet the love of his life. The book will end with the children having powers that he wished they would never acquire. It appears his bloodline is plagued with the responsibility of safeguarding humanity.

Chelsen’s magic is different form other humans. While Chelsen can practice both manipulation and teleportation, most Umana only can practice teleportation while Scath can practice manipulation.
