Chelsen First Story Idea

This early concept was started in 2016 and further developed in 2017. The idea was eventually scrapped as it didn't fit into the larger plot and played off of stereotypical revenge stories.

Chelsen was a young boy learning about woodcutting from a very early age. Integrated with society quite smoothly. At age six his mother dies of a disease. Mother is found on the outskirts of the city. The death is mysterious as people didn’t know her condition was this bad. She knew that she could hurt others and therefore moved away from others. Didn’t want them to catch whatever evil spirit had taken ahold of her. Went to the outskirts to die alone.

Everyone grieves for this loss. Chelsen cannot seek revenge as it is a sickness that has killed his mother. Comes to peace with the outcome. Works his hardest to make up for the society’s loss. At age thirteen another case of someone becoming deathly sick is reported. Soon after while Chelsen is out cutting down trees, he sees something fall from the sky. Walking over to the presumed crash site, he finds extraterrestrial life. Naturally he fears the new beings. After fainting and calming down, there is a learned communication. The aliens learned of his intelligence while he was out. Horrific realization comes to them. They have broken intergalactic law. Troubles now arise as they need a way to fix their problem.

Realization slowly sweeps over Chelsen realizing they have admitted to killing his mother. Strangely he cannot be made seeing the alien species being sad about their terrible mistake. Circumstances are then explained and the only choice these aliens have for not getting caught is making up for their plague. They give Chelsen the power to heal others. It appears Chelsen has similar abilities of the aliens, being able to control forces that allow for healing.

Science behind the magic will be explained later. Further development needed. For now, it will work from manipulating certain particles that exist below the subatomic level. Humanity can control neural impulses so finely that they can manipulate these microscopic particles.
