Description

A relatively new intersellar species desperate to make large strides in both technology and territorial gain. This particular species has overcome the barriers of extremely sensitive bodies, where any form of electromagnetic radiation tends to have negative effects on their bodies. One of the main reasons why they have only now emerged as an interstellar species is not due to their lack of technology in transportation, but rather the inability to shield their bodies from the harsh, defenseless environment of space.

Due to their sensitive nature, Comptana have a unique ability to communicate through touch. By sending waves of energy through their bodies, each Comptana has the ability to communicate with one another through some form of physical contact. This form of communication has been enhanced by technology, where devices are able to send electromagnetic radiation in a specific direction at the same intervals of physical contact to achieve the same level of communication from far away distances.

Physically, the Comptana have a similar humanoid shape but lack many of the features of a typical Umana. Comptana have no eyes, ears, or an facial features. Their rough skin acts as a sole sensory organ. Their fingers are similar to an Umana's fingers, but they only possess three. Each finger has a bulb on the end to assumedly maximize surface area and to assist with the environment. The same description of the fingers can also be applied to their three toes. All Comptana are significantly shorter in all proportions compared to an Umana.

To protect their sensitive bodies, Comptana developed an environmental suite that allows them to block out all electromagnetic radiation. The appearance to any Umana is a completely reflective, mirror-like being. This suite also happens to provide camouflage and makes it very hard for any creature to see a Comptana.
