Description

Ever since Auden was a kid she was treated differently because of her heritage. She was often excluded from all other social events and quickly became the outcast of Thymos village. There was only one person who didn't mind having her around, and that person was the blacksmith. Auden immediately showed potential in the craft, and soon surpassed any previous apprentices in both skill and commitment. Her mentor not only showed her how to make a blade, but even taught her how to use one quite effectively. Eventually Auden saw this path as an avenue for some sort of acceptance into Thymos' society. Although she could never be one of them, she would become an asset and demand respect. By the time Auden's mentor passed, she had surpassed him in skill and was one of the best blacksmiths in the northern hemisphere. Her skills brought travelers from all over the world to request her work.

Eventually one travel by the name of Joxer came into town. He was a legendary swordsfighter from the town of Loch looking for Auden's talents. The two did not get along very well until one day when Auden found Joxer gloating about his skills to all the other men in town and became jealous of his status and the attention he was receiving from everyone. She challenged him to a sword fight and came so close to winning that Joxer was immediately humbled. Eventually the two became friends, which blossomed into a relationship. Although Joxer felt uncomfortable living in Thymos as ties between Loch and Thymos were still shaky at best, he decided to settle with Auden. The two eventually had a child by the name of Mia. Mia ended up following Auden's footsteps from a very young age. She took little interest in fighting, but appreciated the craft of blacksmithing.

Auden made sure to not tell Mia about anything from there past in hopes that people would forgot their connections to Kaire. Unfortunately, tensions between Loch and Thymos flared back up when Mia was seven, only increasing tensions between the two neighboring villages. Eventually Joxer was asked to leave for fear that he was spying on the village. When he refused to leave his family, the people of Thymos threatened to kill them all. Childhood friends of Auden also turned on her and said they were going to kill her for her heritage's atrocities. Out of fear for their child's safety, Auden and Joxer made an agreement with the village of Thymos: they would disappear as long as they kept Mia safe. Thymosians knew that Mia had no knowledge of the past, so they agreed to exile Auden and Joxer and keep Mia's skills to prepare for what felt like another war.

Although Auden was sad to leave her child behind, she had a plan. She took Joxer to the Liminal Forest where they would hide, and occasionally came by as "traders" so they could check in and see that Mia was still safe. For the rest of their days. Auden and Joxer lived in the adjacent forest fighting off assassins and waiting for the day their child was old enough to protect herself so they could reunite.
